The One After

The One After

I was scared.

Lying on the street covered in blood.

I saw my mom out of the corner of my left eye.

I was thirteen.

I was scared.

That my life would be over.

Poof.

Gone.

I would disappear forever.

"Puncture wound right tibia!"

Everything went black.

And then nothing.

Would I ever be the same?

I'll never know.

I'm who was left.

The one after.
