Mom

I was shaking in my boots.

Fear.

False evidence appearing real.

I was up next.

I glanced at my Mom.

Ready?

She said, "Let's kick Simon's ass."

"That’s unlikely.

If we're lucky, we'll make it through to the end."

I thought we could.

But just for a second or two.

Then reality quickly set in.

I truly faced their judgment.

But it didn't define me.

Only I can define myself.

My mom let 'em have it.

Judges Schmudges.

They don't matter.

We had fun.

We'll never forget it.

Neither will YouTube.

My mom has always been there for me.

One thousand and one percent.

My mom has a say.

My family, my friends, and my patients have a say.

They're looking at me.

They're listening to me.

We're really communicating.

My mom taught me that connection is the best medicine.

Because once we’re truly connected, nothing else matters.

Thanks, Mom.
