“We all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own.” ~Marcus Aurelius
Damn, he's right.
No one’s opinion of you means anything.
How could it?
Nothing inherently "means" anything without you.
You're the meaning-making machine that gives a meaning, an interpretation, to everything that happens to you.
Everything said about you.
Everything written about you.
Don’t let yourself be affected by it.
Instead, do something that helps someone else feel a little better about themselves.
The one gazing in your general direction.
Repeat this every day.
The above, when repeated consistently, will induce happiness.
Microstep: Let their opinion of you go. It's meaningless anyway. Focus on the world out there, right in front of you. Help someone gazing in your direction. You can make a difference for them.
